IMURA ART GALLERY
京都
画廊介绍:
IMURA ART GALLERY was first opened in Kyoto Hotel Annex (currently called Kyoto Hotel Okura) in 1990. Since then we have selected and introduced the work of contemporary art which hopefully defy the stereotypes. In 1996 we moved our base to Kawabata-Marutamachi nearby Heian Jingu Shrine. The gallery has a wide-open space veiled in soft light. Here we have held the permanent exhibitions by Japan-based front-line artists and the artists who are active on the international stage including Europe. In addition, we have held exhibitions with our unique style, attracting the widespread popularity among both Japanese and foreign customers. In recent years, we are willing to handle the work by young artists, gather the work of young talented artists and hold exhibitions. The performance of such artists is notable within nation and abroad, such as in the US, Europe, and other Asian countries. Among the works in this exhibition, some were made by the artists who produced the works which are definitely coming up for auction in overseas. Other than the young artists aforementioned, we also have a wide range of collection in the works of art produced by Kansai-based artists as well as the artists who are related to Kyoto, across various genres such as the work in the flat and formative arts.
